Scripture and Prayer on Friday, July 9, 2021

Pastor David reads Mark 1:1-13 and offers a prayer from Desiderius Erasmus:

O Holy Spirit of God, who with your holy breath cleanses the hearts and minds of people,
comforting them when they are in sorrow,
leading them when they are out of the way,
kindling them when they are cold,
knitting them together when they are at variance,
and enriching them with many gifts;
by whose working all things live:
We ask you to maintain and daily increase the gifts which you have given us;
that with your light before us and within us, we may pass through this world without stumbling and without straying;
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Son, forever.
