Pastor David reads Psalms 1, 2, and 3, and offers a prayer from Christina Rossetti:

Lord Jesus, All-pure, purify us that we may behold you.
All-holy, sanctify us that we may stand before you.
All-gracious, mould us that we may please you.
Very love, suffer us not to set at naught your love; suffer not devil, world, flesh to destroy us; suffer not ourselves to destroy ourselves; us with whom you strive, whom you desire, whom you love.
